Jonathan ('JP') Paul

Jonathan (‘JP’) Paul enjoys a career serving nonprofit education organizations, specializing in strategic financial decision support for senior leadership and boards, as well as financial planning. He currently serves as Assistant Vice President of Finance at Harvard University where he leads the Office of Financial Strategy and Planning. In this role he supports University leadership in executing their fiduciary obligations, develops the University’s long-range financial plans, annual operating budgets and capital plans, and manages distribution of income received from Harvard’s $37.6B endowment. Prior to Harvard, JP served as Senior Managing Director of Financial Planning & Analysis at Teach For America managing financial planning for all fifty TFA regions; he also served as Vice President of Finance for Achievement First Public Charter Schools, leading the finance team for a 26-school network spanning New York, Connecticut and Rhode Island.
JP has a doctorate from the University of Sydney for his research on information ambiguity and its effects of escalating commitment to failing courses of action, and has an undergraduate Honors degree in Accounting and Information Systems from the University of New South Wales in Australia. While pursuing research, JP taught over 2,000 students across both of these institutions.
JP and his wife Genna are relatively recent residents of the Boston area and are committed to contributing to the local community.
